The 3-part paddle made of super-light 100% 3K carbon can be moved super-fast and practically flies over the water. The characteristic feature of the new Alpha Paddle from Season is the anti-twist connection in the handle part and the hexagon connection from the middle part to the blade element. These two connections ensure that the paddle handle will never turn. In addition, there is the enormous power development due to the adapted flex hardness of the round shaft. Although the Alpha 96 is a 3-part carbon paddle, the paddle stroke feels very direct and stiff. The paddle is very light at just 575g and is therefore wonderfully easy to move over water. You hardly feel the paddle in your hand, which makes the movement from exit to catch, but also changing sides, much easier. At a normal cadence of 45 strokes per minute, you move the paddle 2700 times per hour. Each time, the paddle needs to be pulled out of the water and moved all the way forward. Also, around 15% of the movements are a change of side, which means a little more stroke. If you add up the weight, you move around 300g more each time with a standard fiberglass paddle than with the Alpha 96. That's around 900kg more per hour! Carbon paddles are not only high-performance paddles for sports paddlers, but they are also the right choice for lighter paddlers, as a huge amount of power is saved.
